100,000 Page Views for Gopher Genealogy

At about 3:30 this afternoon the blog Gopher Genealogy reached 100,000 views. The blog began on April 24, 2011. Then in four years-time on February 28, 2015 it reached 50,000 page views. In less than two years it has now doubled the amount of page views. These views are from all around the world, but just over 59,000 come from the United States. When starting the blog it was a novelty and many other genealogists were doing the same. Geneabloggers has about 3,000 blogs listed at their website. Today the website posted an interview entitled, "May I Introduce You to Susan LeBlanc."
This is a short piece from the post:

“This month is my all-time high for page views almost 7,000, for a total of 86,568 in 5 1/2 years. My followers are consistent at 71, but many more see my posts through Google and Facebook. It amazes me that while I have not written as much as at first, the page views continue to grow. I still have plenty to write about and hope to do more writing in the coming year.”

The all-time monthly high was surpassed in December 2016 with 10,314 for that month. It continues to grow and it amazes me that this means of communication has generated such a response. Here are some of the statistics from the blog:

Now after six years of writing posts my goal is to continue to do so. This is my 302 post. There are so many family stories that need to get out of my head and notebooks and into a format that my family, friends and associates can enjoy. Do you have a blog and are you continuing to add to the content? We need to write and continue to build on those skills as we come to understand how the past impacts the present and eventually the future. My serendipity moment of the day is reaching 100,000 views and having my interview with Geneabloggers happen on the same day on January 9, 2017. Thank you to those who share the love of writing and reading about our ancestors.
