Today was a new steps in the right direction. I signed up for Zoom and then attended meetings in two genealogy venues.
First was for Whittier Area Genealogical Society. About twenty of us met and began with an introduction for the society. Then Christine Cohen presented a lecture and power point on using the US Census records more fully in our research. It was not recorded and the handout may be gone now. The sign in was a bit of a challenge, but once you do things go much better.
The second meet up was with Elyse Doerflinger who set up a private meeting with Zoom. There were eight of us signed in for most of the meet up. There were mostly women, but one man bravely joined in. The format was open discussion of whatever was on our minds. I do believe it was recorded. I appreciate everyone who made these events possible. It is great to see how much we are alike and then to notice our differences. Thank you so much!
I also joined the group All Things Genealogy. Now is a good time to explore our genealogy educational opportunities and get to know each other better.
